Austria, Slovenia and Croatia are a nature lover’s delight. Snow-capped peaks, sparkling blue lakes, dense forest and vineyard-covered valleys come together (with a healthy spattering of designated bike trails) to leave outdoor enthusiasts spoiled for choice. Though these three countries are far from their bind in the Austro-Hungarian empire, what they do continue to share is a love of locally sourced food, stunning and varied landscapes and an appreciation for well-crafted wine.

Day 1
Visit the town of Graz, Austria for a tour with a local artist, who will capture the beating heart of this delightful city. Then, change into your bike clothes for your first ride along the Mur River.
Day 2
Hit the quiet roads that zigzag through the hills of Southern Styria. Stop en route to taste the local delicacy, kürbiskernöl (pumpkin seed oil), and enjoy lunch at a local Buschenschank (wine bar).
Day 3
Start biking straight from the hotel’s doorstep into the wine hills and across the border into Slovenia. Lunch will be a local affair, hosted by a family of farmers along the way.
Day 4
Venture to Radovljica to meet with your bikes for a spin in the direction of Lake Bled. Marvel at its impossibly turquoise-blue waters before heading back to Ljubljana for a guided tour of the old town.
Day 5
Discover the hidden corners of southeastern Slovenia and pedal through forested hillsides and emerald green valleys. Along the way, visit with the locals, sample cured meats and get familiar with Slovene schnapps!
Day 6
Depart Otocec for a ride skirting the border of Croatia. After lunch, say goodbye to your bikes and hop in the vehicle headed for Zagreb to wander its streets at your whim.
Day 7
After one of the best breakfasts of your life in the Esplanade hotel (trust us!), you’ll be driven to the airport for your onward travels.
